Political Education

Friends of Families also seeks to support legislation and community education concerned with the kinds of changes in the society necessary for supporting family life. Whether that takes the form of more adequate child-care facilities paid for by corporations, or paid maternity and paternity leaves for parents, or tax incentives for people participating in family support networks, or tax credits for participating in educational activities, or counseling designed to give people the skills to handle their family communication problems, or programs to build housing and neighborhoods designed for closer cooperation between families. Friends of the Family shows how these issues fit together for a comprehensive family-support program.
