Being a spiritual activist means working to create a loving, just, sacred, and sustainable world through means that are also loving, just, sacred, and sustainable. A spiritual activist practices empathy in word and deed as a way to build beloved communities and transform consciousness.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"336\" height=\"197\" src=\"https:\/\/nsp.tikkun.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/activism-conference.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-48\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spiritualprogressives.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/activism-conference.jpg 336w, https:\/\/spiritualprogressives.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/activism-conference-300x176.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 336px) 85vw, 336px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>By \u201c<em>loving<\/em>\u201d we mean that we love others (and ourselves) even if we don\u2019t like them (sometimes or all the time)! Love is a verb, not simply a feeling. A spiritual activist practices love in action. To practice love means responding to others from a place of compassion and empathy and to see the embodiment of the sacred in all beings. Loving means to be engaged in the present moment while being aware of the future and acting from a place of connection with one\u2019s highest ethical, moral and spiritual principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By \u201c<em>just<\/em>\u201d we mean a world where all forms of inequity and dehumanization are overcome not only through the necessary legal and political channels but also and more importantly, through consciousness raising and the transformation of peoples\u2019 hearts and minds.
